BLOOMFIELD PUBLIC LIBRARY-USER POLICY
Anyone can use the resources of the Bloomfield Public library. Only registered patrons may borrow library materials and use the computer.
REGISTRATION
- Available to residents of Bloomfield Borough and Centre Township.
- Available to anyone with an Access PA library card.
- Available to residents of other municipalities for a fee (see below).
- A parent or guardian is responsible for all materials and charges on his/her minor child’s card.
RESIDENT REGISTRATION
- Proper proof of residency is required for obtaining a library card.
- Resident registration will be for a period of one year.
- Renewal will be dependent on all fines being paid.
- Lost library cards will be replaced for $1.
NON-RESIDENT REGISTRATION
- Proper proof of residency is required for obtaining a library card.
- Non-resident registration will be for a period of one year.
- The non-resident registration/user fee is $25. A family membership is $25 and will include up to two adults living in the same household and dependents under 18 years of age.
- No fee will be charged for individuals holding an active duty military ID card or a full time student ID card.
- Non-residents will not receive an Access PA sticker.
- Renewal will be dependent on all fines being paid.
- Lost library cards will be replaced for $1.
VISITOR REGISTRATION
- Proper proof of residency is required for obtaining a library card.
- This category is for individuals residing in other municipalities or areas that wish to borrow book or use the computer on a short term basis.
- Visitor registration will be for a period of one month.
- The visitor registration fee will be $5.
- Visitors will not receive an Access PA sticker.
- Lost library cards will be replaced for $1
CIRCULATION
- Individuals must be registered (see REGISTRATION) in order to borrow materials and/or use the computers.
- Individuals must present their valid Bloomfield Library card when borrowing materials or using the computers.
- The basic borrowing period for books will be three weeks with two renewals unless material is requested by another patron.
- Shorter or longer loan periods may be established for such items as new and popular materials, materials used for special group projects, etc…
- The borrowing period for audiovisual materials will be for seven days.
- All reference material must remain in the library.
FINES
- The fine for overdue books is $.15 per day up to a maximum of $10.00, with a one day grace period.
- The fine for overdue audiovisual materials is $1.00 per day up to a maximum of $10.00.
- A replacement fee will be charged for lost or damaged books dependent on the estimated replacement cost of the material.
- Fines must be paid before a patron is permitted to borrow more materials or use the computers.
