2023 Summer Reading Program for Everone!
For Kids age 3 through 12 and their families

Pick up your activity packets at the library, or print them from home using the links below.
Packet for children ages 3 through 7 Packet for children ages 8 through 12
Although not required for packet completion, attendance at each of our in-person programs on Tuesdays in July counts as an elective activity towards completion of the activity packet. Join us at 1 PM for an hour of stories, crafts, and activities on July 11, 18, 25, and August 1 at the library.
When you have accumulated the required number of points for your age on the required number of pages, bring your packet to the library between July 1 and August 19, and receive your prize. You must pick up your prize at Newport Public Library. The Prize for a completed packet is a brand new book and a free pass to Butcher’s Family Fun Farm. We extend our thanks to the Friends of Newport Public Library and Butcher’s Family Fun Farm for sponsoring our Summer Reading Challenge for many, many years.

Teen and Adult Summer Reading Challenge!
If you are a teen or an adult, for every age appropriate book you read (Yes, audio books count as reading!), you will receive one chance for a prize in our drawing.
Each time you read (an age appropriate) book, fill out one of our slips with the title, author, and your contact information. That allows us to notify you when you win a prize. Pick up the slips at the library OR print them using the links below:
KISS Reading Slip for adults and teens
When you deliver your slips to Newport Public Library you will see the prize barrels. Place the slips in the appropriate prize barrel by August 19 to be eligible to win a prize. The drawing will be August 21, 2022.
2023 prizes include a handmade quilt and gift cards to local businesses
Prizes will be drawn on Monday, August 21. You must pick up your prize at Newport Public Library.
