Due to increased shipping costs, effective January 11, 2024, the Capital Area Library District member libraries, including Perry County libraries, will provide Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services using the Access Pennsylvania (Access PA) catalog to obtain the items you request. Items will no longer come from out of state libraries. District loans will continue to come from the catalogs of the three counties, as usual (Dauphin, Cumberland, and Perry).
For children too young for preschool storytime, we offer a Toddler Tales program every Thursday morning at 10AM. It is never too early to start a love of books and learning for your child. There will be no Toddler Tales during the month of August.
Beginning in October, Children’s Story Hour will take place weekly! October is SPACE month. Join us for a captivating month exploring books and resources about all things space at 10:30am on Oct. 4, 11, 18, and 25.
Newport Public Library is excited to announce weekly pre-K Storytime programs for children ages 3-5. The programs will be held at the library on Tuesday mornings from 10 to 11. No registration needed. During July our summer reading programs will be held on Tuesdays at 10 AM, and there will be no storytimes during the month of August.
Join us for the Book Club that meets from 10 to 11:15 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at Newport Public Library. Everyone is welcome, whether you have read the book or not. Newport Public Library Construction Crew will meet again on Sat., July 27 at 10 AM. We have lots of Lego fun every last Saturday of the month. We have the bricks and duplo sized, as well- we just need the kids. Ages 3 through tweens.
