NPL and Penn State Extension are hosting a Pressure Canner Inspection Event on Sat., June 24 between 10 AM and noon. Bring your pressure canner to be inspected for free before canning season gets into full swing. There will be lots of canning information to pick up, and you “can” get your questions answered, as well.
STEM Robot Program Series at Newport
Newport Public Library is having a series of STEM programs for 5th through 8th graders and their elder significant others. We are able to take 12 intergenerational teams (one kid and one grandparent or parent on each team). These teams will learn how to use a Sphero BOLT robot. Teams must each have a cell phone or tablet that can have the app installed to drive the robot. Teams will attend four programs (March 4, 11, 18, and 25) from 10 AM to noon. Book Club at Newport Public Library
Join us for the Book Club that will meet from 10 to 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19th at Newport Public Library. The group will read and discuss the book, Sharp Objects, by Gillian Flynn at the April meeting. The Book Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month. Members choose the books the group reads. Newport Public Library is excited to announce the spring 2023 session of weekly pre-K Storytime programs for children ages 3-5. In addition to letters, numbers, shapes and colors, this spring’s programs will help children make manners second nature.
